Job Summary

The Director of Student Success and Academic Services plays an integral role in our mission as a college preparatory school. This person is responsible for leading our College Crew advisory program and working closely with juniors and seniors individually and collectively as an advisor in postsecondary planning. In addition, the director will take the lead on academic scheduling and standardized testing. This position is an 11-month contract position, beginning the final week of July through the third week of June.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Candidates must have or be able to obtain a New Mexico Level IIIB K-12 Administrator license
  • Master's degree or higher in education-related fields and a minimum three (3) years of experience in teaching and/or administration, with at least five (5) years of experience preferred
  • Candidates will need to be able to attend and/or supervise school events that include evenings and weekends 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the College Crew advisory program, assisting teachers with yearlong planning and providing resources and guest teaching as applicable to college application advising.
  • Work collectively and individually with juniors and seniors throughout the college or postsecondary planning process, advising on application processes and scholarship opportunities.
  • Manage the Davis Grant and partner with the Davis New Mexico Foundation to implement programming at ATC.
  • Take the lead on PowerSchool data management.
  • Serve as the school’s registrar.
  • Develop the master schedule with input from the co-principals, including directing the course selection process and supporting students in dual credit enrollment. 
  • Monitor students’ credit recovery needs and support them in scheduling in order to ensure on-time graduation.
  • Direct the Next Step Plan process, ensuring schoolwide compliance.
  • Oversee summer school enrollment and manage programming, including proctoring final exams.
  • Manage the school’s flexible learning program with support from the attendance clerk.
  • Co-direct student testing and assessment programs with the co-principal. Collaborate with the district to coordinate the implementation of NMPED’s statewide assessment program. Serve as the school’s AP Coordinator and support AP course development and success. Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Technology to implement technology infrastructure for assessment activities. Assist the co-principals and faculty in the evaluation of school assessment programs and support the faculty’s use of assessment reporting and data tools.
  • Collaborate with the co-principals and administrative staff for effective school operations. Assist the co-principals with daily school operations, procedures, and community engagement. Serve as the administrative designee when required.

  • Leading candidates will demonstrate proficiency in digital and technology tools for effective school leadership, including but not limited to MS suite, Google suite, data interpretation and analytics, classroom technology and learning management systems (LMS). In particular, experience with PowerSchool is a plus.
  • Leading candidates will demonstrate exemplary time management, detail and deadline orientation, and systems management.
  • Leading candidates will demonstrate exemplary personal integrity and accountability. School leadership must model the highest levels of ethical responsibility, individual accountability, and time management.
